This one flew once I got going, but it was a struggle to remember my painting processes.
The image is of trees on top of an old Railway tunnel in Bedfordshire. It was an interesting challenge finding this area which is part of the Old Warden Tunnel Nature Reserve. A nice summer's day in 2022 brought out the best in this location and I feel its is a photo shoot I may return to in the future.
The key to bringing this piece to life was to work from both a standard photo print of the image and a second overexposed version to see the detail in the trees. I worked to plot out all the shapes and then built up the colours. Final stage was to detail up with trees being painted as individual items. Hopefully the final effect is satisfying - certainly had a positive response on social media.
